CrossFit Experience: 2 years.
Favorite WOD/Exercise: My favorite is deadlifts and cleans. I really like any workout where I have a barbell in my hands.
PR Pride: I am super proud that I can now do rope climbs and dubs!! I’m the past few weeks I have been able to do dubs during the WOD. I have been able to get in a few rope climbs to the top and at least climb up half each attempt! This week I also PR’d my squat clean 1 rep at 125# and push press 1 rep @120#
Least Favorite WOD/Exercise: Thrusters or overhead lunges/squats. I really struggle with movements overhead but I’m working on it.
Tell us about yourself.
I am a nurse at Akron General on a cardiac med/surg floor.
Why did you start CrossFit?
I started at CrossFit 330 with a friend from work who encouraged me to do Boot Camp with her. I signed up for CrossFit shortly before Boot Camp ended.
What is your favorite thing about CrossFit?
I love the variety and how each workout challenges me in some way. I love the way I feel after completing the WOD and the sense of accomplishment. I love the encouragement and support from friends and the coaches.
What motivates you to CrossFit?
I love the encouragement and encouragement from everyone. I love the challenge each WOD brings and overcoming it. I feel accomplished after each WOD. It is so fun to go workout with friends who constantly encourage and push each other through every workout. We even have a group text to keep each other accountable.
What goals would you like to achieve in the next year that CrossFit can help you with?
I am working on pull ups and T2B. I would like to be more consistent with my dubs, and continue to get better with overhead movements.
What would you tell someone who was thinking about starting CrossFit, but was nervous or scared?
Do it!!! The moment you step in the door you are welcomed and everyone is so friendly. Anyone is able to do it as there are modification for everything. Everyone will help and encourage you through the workout. You will be challenged but feel accomplished when you leave. Joining CrossFit 330 was the best decision I have made for myself!!
