CrossFit Experience: Its been a little over a year since I crossed over from bootcamp to crossfit
Favorite WOD/Exercise: Do people really have favorite exercises?? I'd say anything with back squats and deadlifts...maybe throw some rope climbs in there. I am by no means good at rope climbs but there is something about reaching the top that is extremely satisfying!
Least Favorite WOD/Exercise: There is nothing worse than a workout where you bust your ass and don't go anywhere...rowing and assult bike!
Tell us about yourself.
I am an Intervention Specialist for a self-contained autism unit for Akron Public schools. I would feel so guilty not mentioning my Goldendoodle puppers, Stanley, or my fiance', Brian (we're getting married November 2019!)
Why did you start CrossFit?
I started bootcamp (Go tribe 24!!) to get back into shape and overall shed a few inches and pounds. I met with Megan on one of the last days of bootcamp to discuss continuing my fitness journey with crossfit and decided to take the plunge!
What is your favorite thing about CrossFit?
Slangin' heavy weight! And the awesome friendships I've made, of course.
What is a PR (Personal Record) that you are proud of?
Competiting in the 2017 Survival Games and not coming in last place! I pushed my body and mind to do some unimaginable WODS that weekend. My 220# 2 rep backsquat makes me pretty proud also.
What motivates you to CrossFit?
Seeing how my body is becoming stronger and seeing a little glimpse of a bicep forming. And seeing my CF pals.
What goals would you like to achieve in the next year that CrossFit can help you with?
A pull-up! And it wouldn't hurt to keep shedding the pounds!
What would you tell someone who was thinking about starting CrossFit, but was nervous or scared?
Don't just go to any gym. Choose 330. They'll help you through your nerves and help you reach your goals! Once you get started it's not that intimidating-just do it!
